They ain't what they used to be.
I'm lucky if I can bat 75% with most of the ones I buy anymore.
I'm asking here because most 98 machines still have floppy drives.
Any recommendations for a specific brand?

Yeah, that's an understatement, really.
I have always used Imation floppy disks (3-1/2") and probably see a little bit
better than 75% good ones in a box.

I don't use that many now that I'm retired. At work I always brought the
Staples house brand. Very few bad ones. Very few.
The company of course had an account and received a discount. But even
so,less that the name brands if you brought on your own.

Nothing is what it used to be.
I have hundreds of 3M and Fuji floppies, as well as some no-
names which software came on - most of which were bought in the
90's and less than 10 (if that) have failed. I have a few
original Aldus disks from 89 or 90 and they still work fine,
too.
I use a floppy 2-5 times a week to move small amounts of data
between 2 computers - the last 3M lasted about 2 years I
think... I am now using a Fuji, also its 2nd year IIRC.
I believe 3M is now Imation and I don't like Imation. I don't
know if Fuji still makes floppies, but that's what I would buy.
Although as it stands, I think I have a supply for the rest of
my life. (Of course, that doesn't help YOU much.)

I just ordered 50 Fujifilm Floppy Disks for $11.66.
Multicolored already. :-)

I had an old set of Windows 95 installation floppies that I reformatted and
used. I don't remember *any* of those going bad. Those AOL floppies held up
pretty good too... :-)

Yeah, I forgot about the AOL's... I worked in a company and
every few months we used to get about 30-40 of those AOL
disks... They held up fine too, nice sparkly designs on some of
them...
Glad to hear Fujis are still available.
Fujis are also one of the best CD-R brands.

Don't understand the problem.
Always used "Fujifilm" floppies. NEVER had a bad one.
