Look'n'Stop 2.06 was released a couple of days ago ...
It supports even Windows 95:

Thanks Roman, very much appreciated. I rebooted my "old 98" last week after
a few years and it still runs great but I had no ZoneAlarm firewall or any
protection for it when on line. I have refurbished it for a friend as a gift
but cannot let them use it on the web without a firewall.

Thanks again, Bob - Gold Coast Australia.

I have used Kerio Personal 2.1.5 for five or six years.  I like
it because you specify the all rules in terms of ports,
protocols, addresses, etc.

With some work, you can find it with Google.

Running firewall software on any computer, especially win-98, is one
of the most useless things you can do to bog your system down for no
good reason.

Anyone recommending firewall software to you should first ask you if
you have a NAT-router.  If you do, then it is acting as a firewall, a
better firewall than a software firewall running on your computer.

If you don't have a NAT-router between your computer and your modem
(cable or DSL) then you are not putting the proper emphasis on your
security situation because that is the first thing you should have.

Agnitum Outpost version 1, about 5 years old, works fine, no
updates needed by definition (this IMHO applies to ALL
firewalls).

Router freaks - this is not an option available to everyone, for
various reasons.
