Recently I decided to try out an unofficial service pack that transorms
Windows 98 into a very modern looking operating system.  It works pretty good
with a few minor bugs, such as Nero Express 5 not giving me an MP3 preview of
the songs I select in a playlist and some other program functions not working
properly.  So, I decided to revert back to Windows 98 to the way it was
before I installed the service pack (it has an option to uninstall and remove
all components of the service pack).  Everything seemed to have reverted back
except for one thing so far.  When I go to the WINDOWS and SYSTEM folders, I
should have the option to hide all the files with an option to "Show Files".  
Instead, all I get is a classic view of these folders (files are
automatically shown).  

I tried to enable web content by choosing the "View as a web page" option
under the views tab, but nothing happens when I select it!  I've made sure
that the file FOLDER.HTT is there, and it is.  It's the original Windows 98
version of the file, too....not the service pack version.  So, I've been
thinking two things:

1. I might try repairing Internet Explorer with the Internet Explorer repair
tool in msinfo32  

2. I might try reinstalling Windows 98.

If I reinstall Windows 98, will I lose my critical updates?  I don't think
I've ever reinstalled Windows over itself, so I'm unfamiliar with this
method.  I suppose there is actually a third option.  That is to get some
good advice on how to enable the WINDOWS and SYSTEM folders as a web page
again.  (I think the control panel and Program Files folder act the same way.)
