I get an error message when booting up Win98
"0271: Check date and time settings"
When I try to go into setup it needs a password. I have never needed a
password before.
If I try and continue without going into setup it still asks for a password.
It has never asked for a password before.
What happened?
Is there a default password for this?

Removing the CMOS battery for approx. 30 secs should reset the BIOS to its Default
settings.
If that fails to help:
Shut down the PC.
Unplug the power cord to the PC.
Remove the CMOS battery.
Press/hold down the Power button on the front of the PC for approx 30 secs.
Replace the CMOS battery.
Plug the power cord back in and boot the PC.

Check the BIOS for the drive boot order and set the HD as the first drive to boot
from if it isn't set already.
Save the settings and exit the BIOS to reboot.
