Nick,
I got Sims2 to work!!!!!!!!!!!
I read the directx log file and saw how many times it
said "...newer than the one being installed" and I thought
the new one must be coming from Sims2. I went to the disk,
and found directx and installed it manually from there. I
have no idea why I got an error message when I first
started the Sims. All I can figure is that the directx on
the disk didn't install and when it told me my directx was
out of date it was reading the version I already had
installed. And what ever I had installed or downloaded
(again and again) didn't have what Sims needed. So, the
directx version on Sims2 must be newer than 9.0C!
I AM SO HAPPY!!! It's been since 9/16 trying to ge this to
work.
I am still going to update my audio chipset
Thank you SO much for helping me!
Marilyn
