I just subscribed. I only belong to one other group and I
find the amount of junk postings here amazing! Do most
newsgroups groups get so many junk postings?
Anyway, here is my question.... I'm running Win XP on a new
computer and find that most of my older games won't run
(only Quake). I really prefer the older games over the
graphics intensive things available today (i. e. I prefer
Jazz Jackrabbit & Descent II over Doom III). How can I best
(most easily) get back to playing the older games? Must I
buy a second computer just to run and old version of windows
or DOS?
Thanks,
Randy
Have you tried running your games in compatibility mode??
(BTW, This group is for people running ||Windows ME rather than Windows XP -
but never mind!)

And there's not a lot of junk here either. *is in lurk mode*
If comp. mode doesn't get you squared away:
DOSBox, an x86 DOS emulator:
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/
That will run the older DOS apps just fine, be they games or any other app.
