delete sub directories from  ME dos screen

I am trying to install XP on a laptop that has a corruted
MS ME installation. I have got to the point of loading XP
PRO via the command line however I am getting message that
I need a gig = of space and I only have 830 meg ~. I have
tried the del command to remove undeed directiors- it
semms that It works however I am not creating anymore
drive space. Any susggestions?

If your WindowsMe install is corrupted, maybe you should copy the documents
and data you need off the hard drive, then wipe it when you install Windows
XP.
