Running ME on a Compaq with an internal CD-RW drive. Easy
CD Creator 5 installed. After reinstalling Windows ME
due to constant freezing, Device Manager confirms the
drive is present and unmarked. It is listed with the
manufacturers info in both Device Manager and Creator 5.
It can play a music CD, read data off a CD, and
successfully install an application off a CD in the
drive, but you cannot drag and drop via Explorer or use
CD Creator 5 to place data onto any formatted CD-RWs.
Several different CD-RWs have been tried. Sometimes the
message indicates the disks are full (they are not) or
write protected (?!). A message appeared indicating
something about a UDF reader and something may have been
inadvertently "clicked" within that message. Under "MY
COMPUTER", this drive when loaded shows a name with "UDF"
in it, even though Device Manager and Creator 5 shows the
manufacturer with no error symbols. We may have
formatted the CD-RW's via "Sonic" in our Dell XP that has
a CD burner and DVD player. How to resolve so that the
CD burner can work again in our Compaq ME? Thanks so much.

You may need to reformat the CD-RW's, as Sonic is Mount Rainer-aware, while
EasyCD5 is not, AFAIK - and the two formats are different
