This is an acknowledged problem... but Microsoft nor ScanDisk has a proper
fix posted via their KB's.
The flash drive is in "Device Manager" and functioning OK. However there is
no drive letter assigned and thus no access to the flash drive.
Is there a fix?
TIA
Billy
Physically remove the drive
Reboot to Safe Mode, and open Device Manager
Remove any references to the drive there, and reboot to Normal Mode
Then attach the drive again - windows should reinstall the drivers,
hopefully fixing your problem.

There is no reference in Device Manager unless the drive is USB port. I
suspect references to the device must be removed via the Registry but
SanDisk does not have *correct* Registry entries on their web site. I hate
to just go pokin' around in the Registry.
Still stuck...

UPDATE
SanDisk could not figure out the problem... spent about an hour on the phone
with their tech support. I had to return two of the 256Meg SanDisk Cruzer
Mini's to the store.
NOTE:
Dell's tech support replied that they received by email and that I was in
line for support... but I suspect I'll never hear from Dell. Microsoft of
course deferred to Dell as they are the OEM.
Do not buy these USB storage devices if you have a Window's ME OS. Note
that they do not work with Windows 98... they will work with Windows 98SE
with a driver download.
