Here is my major problem:
Everytime, when I am online, if I am typing an email or
typing in something into a search, all of the sudden, a
box pops up on my screen, saying "add to favorites", as if
I want to add something to the favorites folder. Or,
another box will come up on screen, saying, "find in
text". I click to cancel them or close them, and the page
reloads all over again, having me to retype everything.
I am currently using my desktop computer, for typing info,
then saving to a disk, then bringing it over to my laptop,
the computer with the problems here, and copy-pasting into
the text field for emails, and search field. That is a
very tedious thing that I have to do.
This has been going on since October, mid month, 2002.
I HAVE re-configured my computer, using the Toshiba
reconfiguration disk, twice, reloading all of the Windows
ME files, etc. My computer is a Toshiba laptop,
Sattelite, Windows ME operational system. I run my Norton
2000 virus protection, and I have no viruses. I even
updated my virus software, again, no viruses.
Even when I am offline, I have typing trouble. I have
Lotus for my word proccessing program. Lotus Word Pro.
When I am typing, all of the sudden, this window comes up,
saying, "fast format". I close it, and a few minutes
later, it comes up again. Thsi happens several times,
until, my save folder comes up, on it's own, and asks me
to save the document. Even then, I get trouble, because,
soemtimes it will not allow me to type in a file name, or
the bar that shows where you want to put the file, in what
folder, flashes psychotically. I finally save the file,
and the program closes on me, on it's own.
Both my brother and cousin, who are both computer
literate, and have had several computer courses in
college, like linux and visual C++, have helped me, and
told me that they think it is one of my drivers that needs
to be updated, or that I may need a new keyboard, which is
weird since the keyboard is inclusive with the laptop.
I am really tired of doing different things, searching for
solutions on my own, doing msconfig, under the "run"
folder, scanning for viruses, you name it, I've tried it.
And, I am not paying for anything or anyone to fix it. I
definitely feel that this is a Windows issue. Not my
fault.
I run a business out of my home, and if I need to email
someone, quick, to get my questions answered on the spot,
so that I don't have to wait for the question to be
answered

Sounds like one of your keyboard keys is sticking, most likely one of the
Ctrl keys based on the commands that are popping up. Try cleaning your
current keyboard or substituting a known-good keyboard.
