My sister's dell computer has suddenly lost the cd-rom
drive. It did work fine but now it doesn't and when you
look in My Computer or Windows Explorer all that is listed
is A: and C: drives, no D: drive and it does not appear in
device manager either. I have tried the troubleshooter and
that was no help. Does anyone have any suggestions on how
to get the D: drive back. A friend of mine told me that
Windows deletes all evidence of the drive if it becomes
faulty.  I would appreciate any help I can get.
