I have installed a second hard drive . It is shown in the
bios data but windows is not detecting it . how do i get
it to work .

Can you see the drive in the Device Manger? If yes and the problem is that
you cannot see the drive in Windows Explorer the problem is likely to be due
to not having fdisked and partitioned the drive.

FDISK
Create a partition
On older versions of windows get a new FDISK from
microsoft for large disks.
Sometimes the disk driver manufacturer has a tool that
does a better job (seagate does) like copying from the
old disk to the new including the OS.
