Hi y'all:

This is probably not a software question, since the
situation existed before I installed Win ME or a new
keyboard.  But does anyone happen to know how to get the
computer to set Num Lock to engaged as default?  This
Compaq Deskpro is the only computer I've used that starts
with that option turned off.

Regards, Joe

Joe,

This is often an option if the PC's bios.  Never having used a Compaq Deskpro
I don't know if that is the case here.

It is, Mike - at least in the ones I've had to kick around :)

Hi,

Generally this is a BIOS option.  Read your comuter
manual for instructions on getting into BIOS (like hit F1
when first message appears, etc.), then look for startup
options.

Well that was easy.  It has been irritating me for a year.  The switch is in
fact in the BIOS, under device options.  Thanks, guys.
