I have recently been given a wireless mouse which is for
windows 2000 or windows XP. Is there a way to enable this
for use on Windows Me. When I try to install the
software, I get message---"not the proper operating system
for this product".

No, which is why it says "For Windows 2000 or Windows XP".

Yes. Go to the MS hardware page and download an earlier
ME version for a wireless wheel mouse, it is
Intellipoint 4.12. Here's the link
