Problems with keyboard

Hi there, I m having major problems on my other computer and for some reason
in some programs the keyboard wont work at all and in others it will work to
some degree. When I say to some degree I mean that about 6 or so keys will
work and the rest wont for some reason. Would anyone have any ideas on why
this is happening? Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

Have you tried swapping the keyboards around?
