Hello,

I can point and click anywhere on www but I cannot seem to
enter values or type into any fields now in my IE6.  I am
running Windows ME.

Anyone have run into this problem?  In fact I am using
another computer to send this as I cannot type on mine.

All other office and windows applications work as far as
typing and using them.

Thanks,
Vasanthi

Vasanthi ,

Cannot Type Text in Outlook Express or Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=235236

Boot to Safe Mode and use the Internet Explorer Repair tool to replace
the damaged or missing Mshtmler.dll .
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | click once on
the IE6 installation to highlight it | click the Add/Remove button |
choose the Repair option. Do not have any other programs open.  Your
system will reboot to complete the repair.

MVP,

Looks like it cannot do the repair.  It is asking to
reinstall IE6 all over again.  What kind of problems can
that bring?

The error messages said it had problems with about 12
dll's.

Vasanthi,

It appears that the IE files were damaged or corrupted during either the
download or installation of IE 6. Suggest you download a fresh copy,
preferrably the full install package, or obtain an IE 6 CD at a computer
related store. After you have a copy of IE 6 on hand, uninstall it via
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel (if it is not listed in Add/Remove
then go here :  http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=293907  )
After the system reboots install the fresh copy .
Please, make sure that your antivirus program is temporarily disabled
during the download or installation of IE 6 . Not doing so almost
guarantees the failure of IE 6 to install properly.

Full installation :

http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/32bit/6.0

Get the ie60.exe  file. It is almost 77 MB.

>Well Vashanti...you have a corruption in your IE6
programgo to add/remove programs in control panal and
highlight MS internet explorer, then click add/remove. It
will give you an opton to repair and thats what you want
to do.Nowwwwww. You probably either have malware, spyware,
or a virus that caused this in the first place so I
reccommend you get Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy or
whatever and run it as well as doing a full virus scan.
Hope it all helps you
