Everytime I try to install IE6.0 SP1, I get "setup was unable to install all
the componets.  Try again".  Everytime I try again, same error.  I've tried
to install the full version and custom, but nothing works.  How do I install
IE6.0 SP1 & Tools without going thru this all the time?

plc,

First, show hidden files, folders, and system files :
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html
Next, create a new folder in My Documents and name it IEBak.
Navigate to Program Files\Internet Explorer\Uninstall Information
Move all of the files from there to the newly created IEBak folder.

Either temporarily disable the installed antivirus program or boot to
Safe Mode and run Setup for IE to install it.
If IE installs successfully you can then delete the entire IEBak folder.
If it does not, move all of the files in IEBak back to their original
location and delete the empty IEBak folder.
