This issue is random but consistent;
Me with Office XP  Outlook 2002    NOD32 AV  BellSouth ISP
Can see  ( 5) 1-9 kb emails in ISP server window but they (today) /
sometimes won't move to Outlook '02 Inbox- Timeout re: Can't log-on to POP3
server msg (Time-out at 2 min) ;
Wife's Plus My BellSouth Email addresses BOTH dump to Outlook '02 and
Settings Confirmed as Correct (In-Out server names-passwords, etc.);
In past simply deleting an email in ISPserver has caused other emails to
Move Into Outlook but not all times;
Send-Rec Status may go from 50% to 70% but nothing is moving over to Outlook
as it usually does ( starts at 50% when wife has no emails)
Asian BLS help desk no help!
Any ideas on what to try??  Many Thanks!!

If you are certain that the passwords etc. are correct then this problem
is more likely to be with the server than with the PC if other net
connections are working correctly.  I would suggest waiting a while and
then trying again.  Perhaps also check your ISP's status page and see if
there are any reports of problems with their mail server.

A program such as the free Magic Mail (http://mmm3.sourceforge.net/) can
be useful and help where the problem is due to a large possibly unwanted
message on the mail server with Magic Mail able to delete unwanted mail
from the server without having to download it.

Thanks, Mike. For anyone who experiences same, a 2nd BLS Help Desk guy had me
Delete "my" email address Set-up and Re-Enter Same Data. Typical of computer
life, the emails began flowing.

I spoke too soon. This a.m. my emails would not move over. The minute I
Deleted my wife's address from Outlook to leave just mine the emails moved
right over. I re-entered her data and will advise what happens when the nerxt
batch of emails comes in.

By Deleting Both sets of Email Account Set-up Data  and Re-Entering the same,
all appears well now. Go figure!  Thanks again, Mike, for the Reply-
