I currently have Windows ME, Internet Explorer 6.0.2 and Adobe Acrobat 6.0.1.
Explorer pages that have Adobe documents will not open in Explorer (I get
that multi-colored box in the upper left corner of the display). I've
uninstalled & reinstalled Adobe selecting the Yahoo Adobe Toolbar option to
see if this helps but to no avail...please advise.

Can you open downloaded pdf files?  If yes have you perhaps disabled the
Acrobat add-in for Internet Explorer, either in Acrobat by unchecking
"Display PDF in Browser" found at Edit | Preferences | Internet or by
using a program such as Spybot - Search and Destroy and removing the
AcroIEHelpObj Class entry found at Tools | BHOs?
