Windows Forum / Windows Me / Internet / August 2006Please help!
I have recently put an ME machine on a network. This network has a simple network modem with built in DHCP. I am able to connect virtually any machine and it work instantly (mac AND pc) Whenever I connect this particular machine and try the internet I get YOU WERE DENIED ACCESS BECAUSE: ACCESS DENIED BY ACCESS CONTROL LIST. Due to connecting to the internet via an ethernet network I'm not able to reinstall my isp connection. What I did was go into internet options from Internet Explorer, then connections tab, and within the LAN settings, I disabled, then re-enabled something like Auto detect settings. (Restarting computer between changes) It's now working a treat! I'm not sure if this was what was causing it, but it wasn't obvious that anything else in the environment had changed!
