My Linksys Wireless/Wired Router went into lockdown mode. I talked to the
Linksys guy (Jay) and he tried to get me to release my IP address. I hit
release all but nothing happened. He said once I get Windows to release the
IP address then the problem will be fixed. He gave me Microsoft's phone
number(s) and the guy (Mark) said he couldn't help me because they stop
giving help over the phone for Win Me. So here I am and thats where you
enter. I have tried rebooting the computer and the router. I have tried
unplugging all three (modem, router, and computer) then plugging them in (in
the right order). If you can tell me how to release the IP address, that
would be great. Thanks!

Disconnecting or rebooting your router will have released the IP address.
Any problem you might be seeing should have nothing to do with the
operating systems running on any PCs, Macs or consoles, that you might
have connected to your router.
