Does anyone know how I can write WMV files directly to DVD's
without first converting them to an AVI file ?

You can write WMV files but the question is can you play them?  If you
intend playing the DVDs in your PC then you should be OK but otherwise you
will need to author a DVD to enable it to be playable on most standalone
DVD players..

Just taking Mikes post a little further, you'd need software which enables
you to write to dvd's such as the latest versions of roxio/nero. It would
then be a data disc, not a dvd playable disc.
