Importing pictures

when i try to import my pictures it says it is not a supported file type and
cannot be impoted into the windows movie makeer,how do i get my pictures into
a file that will support the moviem maker, i'm going nuts trying to figure
this out, any help would be greatly apraciated Thank you

By pictures do you mean still photographs?
What file type are the ones you are trying to import?
MM works best with bitmaps, so maybe convert to this and import.
If you mean video, then MM works with dv-avi or wmv, not things like
divx/xvid/mpeg.
