WMP not opening

I've seen a lot of you with this problem, and now I and my
friend are suffering the wrath of the non-opening WMP. If
I reinstall it, it will work maybe 2 times, then it just
stops opening all together. I really need help.

Does AdAware from LavaSoft detect any ad/spyware on your system? Are you
running an anti-virus program?

I recall there being some particular virus/trojan that munged WMP, which
might explain this. You'd want to make sure you were up to date on
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
