I'm using WinME and WMP9. I want to playback DVD video
using WMP9. I also have WinDVD 5 installed but when I go
into WMP9 it does not show DVD as an option under the PLAY
menu in WMP9. How do I set up WMP9 under WinME and WinDVD
5 to play video DVDs?
As you've noted, and as I believe is mentioned in the Special Features of
WMP9's Help file, DVD playback is only supported on Windows XP. :\

I had not read in WMP9 help file that DVD Playback was not
supported under WinME. I do know many of the other special
features like analog audio recording are not supported by
the add-on pack. I found this out the hard way after
purchasing the $10 add-on only to find that it wouldn't
load to my machine (only worked with XP). But no where in
any documentation have I seen it said that DVD playback
only works with XP.
Me thinks, Mother Microsoft should do a little bit better
job of describing what functions of what applications
actually work under different and varying OS
implementations.
So it's official then...No DVD Playback using WMP9 in
anything other than WinXP.
thx
