I have win ME installed, and using a multimedia keyboard,
and no matter what i do, when I open the volume control
and turn the volume up, it immediately starts decreasing,
until it's down all the way.  I have the same results when
I use the volume control on the keyboard.  Anyone seen
this before???  how do I fix it?

sounds like a very minor virus or a configuration "option" in your
soundcard software mixer.

What kind of soundcard/software do you have installed? (If you Google
for "<soundcard name> crossfade" do you get any results?)

Running a virus-checker couldn't hurt
