I have a Sony Vaio notebook (PIII 850MHz, 384
eg of RAM.  I'm running Windows Me, which came installed
on the computer.

I've been having many crashes and the result of the most
recent one is that my CD-ROM drive (Matsushita UJDA710) is
no longer able to play CDs digitally.  When I try to play
a CD using Microsoft Windows Media 9, I get a message that
it cannot access wnaspi32.dll.  I can use Real Media to
play CDs analog, but it is not really a very good
solution, as I constantly get error messages.  I get error
messages also with Media Bar AV player (shich came with
the computer), so that really isn't an option either.
Using Sony Vaio Support Agent, I am told that I should
reinstall the dll file from my Windows Me disk.  The
problem is, I was never provided with a Windows Me disk
and although I have spent several hours today trying to
work a fix around this problem, nothing has worked.  I
downloaded a couple of files called wnaspi32.dll files
from various sites, but I'm given to believe now that I
need the "original" one that came with Windows Me.  Also,
none of the application recovery, system recovery or
driver recovery CDs that came with the computer seems to
be of any help in dealing with this problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks
