WS_FTP Error Message

I downloaded a WS_FTP program to upload files to an ftp site that will be
hosting my web site. I connect to the ftp site, but as soon as I connect the
WS_FTP program freezes with the following error message generated:

Wsftpgui has caused an error in WSFTPCTL.DLL.

I tried everything I could think of to resolve the problem (uninstalled/
reinstalled the WS-FTP program, ran PC doctor to fix any hard disk drive
errors, deleted all my temporary/cookie files) but nothing seems to be
working for me. I run Microsoft Windows ME. I have a Gateway 933Mhz PC,
Intelpentium III, 40gb, 128 RAM.

Is this some kind of Registry error? If so, is there any software I can
download to fix this DLL error? I heard of DLL errors but I have no idea
what they are related to. Any suggestions very much appreciated as I need
this program to maintain my website!

Thanks!
Kevin

Which WS_FTP do you have?

The one I use can be found here:

This did not have to be posted in the following News Groups.

microsoft.public.windowsme.systemtools  <--- not a WinME system tool
microsoft.public.windowsme.software      <--- not a WinME software
microsoft.public.windowsme.setup           <--- has northing to do with WinME setup
microsoft.public.webdesign.html               <--- has northing to do with HTML/Web Designs
at all
microsoft.public.windowsme.networking   <--- is not a winME networking construct like
NetBIOS over IP, netBEUI etc.

microsoft.public.windowsme.general
That's the *only* News Group this needed to be posted to.

Since WS_FTP is NOT even a Microsoft utility you should ask the author, John A. Junod.  You
can contact John @ IPSwitch - http://www.ipswitch.com

Then why did you post in those groups? Who are you, the Usenet police?

Hi Kevin,

Did you know that you can use Explorer to upload your files to your ftp
server?

Doubleclick the "My Network Places" icon on your desktop.
Doubleclick the "Add Network Place" item.
Fill in the address of your ftp server, e.g. ftp://ftp.microsoft.com
Click on Next.
Uncheck "Log on anonymously"
Fill in your user name.
Click on Next.
You will be prompted for your password, and you are in.
To upload your files, open another Explorer window, and drag and drop your
files from your machine to your "Network Place" and sit back to watch them go.

Good luck
