I am have the same problem as this old post discribes.  I did not
see a solution posted. :-(  Does anyone know that the solution
may be?  I have been on the phone with linksys for over 2
hours and they can fix the problem.  I also emailed Carey Holzman
and he told me to contact the Linksys.  PLEASE HELP!

I just installed a Linksys WRT54G wireless router.  My
wireless computer works great.  I have a Windows ME
computer that is connected to the router directly to port
2 with an ethernet cable.  When connecting to the internet
from the Windows ME computer, Explorer (not Internet
Explorer) seems to freeze up.  If I remove the wireless
router and connect directly to my cable modem I don't have
this problem.  Any ideas on what might be causing Explorer
to quit responding?

Are you also using Norton Software (as was Celeste)??
If so, then your first action should be to uninstall all such - and then try
again

Norton is NOT compatible with Win ME, despite all Symantec's posturing.
