I currently have a small network of 2 computers but I will be adding 2 more.
One is an XP and one is an ME. My ME is a pentium II/III (not sure) is it
worth upgrading to xp or will it run 2 slow.
My PII/400 ran XP quite nicely - but it did have 384MB RAM installed. I
wouldn't try it with anything less, as the response is likely to be sluggish
at best.
Run the Upgrade Advisor first, before splashing out on a new copy of XP -

make sure that your hardware and software are XP-capable

All things being equal, WinME to WinXP on a LAN should not slow the WinME,
or the WinXP computers. Data transfers between the computers, however, will
be constrained by the bandwidth of the Ethernet adapters, and cables, in
the LAN.
