Where can I get software that can enable the hardware described below?

Microsoft Wireless Transceiver for Bluetooth 2.0 (USB 2.0 dongle)
P/N X09 - 59699
Product ID:  72863 - 576 - 0775277 - 0
FCC ID:  C3K1003
IC:  3048A-1003
Model:  1003

When I plug in this dongle, WinMe says it can't find the software.
What can I do?

Plug it in, and use Windows Updates to look for the driver.

Noel, I was unsuccessful in locating a driver.

I plugged it in.  Device manager shows the device with a
yellow question mark, for no driver installed.
In Properties, Windows Millenium Edition was unable to
update the driver or locate software for the device.

I opened Windows Update and scanned for updates.
Windows Update did not find any driver updates for my
computer.  The updates for Windows Millenium Edition do not
include any updates for the Wireless Radio for Bluetooth 2.0
device (USB 2.0 dongle plugged in).

Is there anything else I can do to find a driver or software
for this device for a computer running WinMe?

Have you tried the CD that came with the dongle or didn't you get one as I
think you should have.

I have a laptop that is running XP SP2 and it has internal Bluetooth
2.0 capability installed.  I bought a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer
for Bluetooth for this laptop.  The dongle and CD were not needed;
all I had to do is make the mouse discoverable, and the laptop did the
rest.  I would like to make my desktop running WinMe discoverable too.
When I search for a driver in Device Manager, there is none found on
the IntelliMouse CD.  On the side of the IntelliMouse box, the System
Requirements are XP with SP2.  So I have an unused Microsoft Bluetooth
2.0 dongle, USB 2.0, and Microsoft WinMe OS but no driver or software.

Is there no downloadable driver for this Microsoft wireless
transceiver dongle that will work on WinMe?

In stores there are USB Bluetooth 2.0 transceivers for sale, made by
companies like Belkin and such, which include WinMe in system
requirements.  I was trying to avoid having to buy another one, since
I already have one that came with the IntelliMouse.

I feel that the wording on the side of the IntelliMouse box, the System
Requirements are XP with SP2 is perhaps trying to tell you something <g>
although I thought that both Wn2000 and XP were supported systems for the
Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth - or at least that's what it
says at http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/Download.mspx
with only the Microsoft Bluetooth apparently being XP only.

Sorry not to be able to help.
