XP pro, ipconfig 192.168.0.1, is the host. ME, ipconfig 192.168.0.2., XP is
the host, me is the client. they ping each other, and me is able to share
xp's files, but will not share the broadband on xp. a 3rd pc running xp home,
as a client, has no trouble with xp pro as the host. why won't me share

Those are the right IP addresses.  Check the rest of the TCP/IP
settings on ME.  They should be:

  IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
  Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1 or your ISP's DNS server
