Your USB port is either on the motherboard already, or can be added
through a USB PCI Card.

If you already have USB, you'll have to Enable it in the machine's BIOS:
while booting, tap on (usually) <delete> to access it. Once you've set
USB as Enabled, continue to boot; Windows should take care of it from there.

You can't install USB printers the same way you do the parallel ones with
the Add Printer Wizard.  You need to run the cd that came with it first.  It
will create a "port" for you.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully with USB printers.  Usually
they want you to run the setup before you even plug the printer's USB cable
into your computer.
