Some how all HP printer drivers were deleted from my computer. I tried to
delete all Drv*.bin files to rebuild the data base but the printer data base
remains the sme. Ie no hp printer drivers.  I use an hp 1200C printer and the
only me drivers for that printer is on  the windows Me cd and I do not know
how to access them on the me cd. Hewlett packard does not give a driver out
for that printer on there site. Can anyone tell me how to access the windows
printer data base on the windows me cd.
Thank-you!

The information required to install the HP and other drivers is contained
in the file MSPRINT3.INF which should be located in the Windows\Inf
folder.  If not you can extract a new copy from the Win Me cab set either
manually (it is contained in the file PRECOPY1.CAB or by using MSConfig.
You may also need the file PRTUPD.INF

To extract a file using MSConfig, open the General tab, click Extract,
enter file name you wish to restore in the box and click start.  In the
next box that opens enter the path to the folder containing the Win Me cab
files in the top box (usually either C:\Windows\Options\Cabs or
C:Windows\Options\Install but if not, the folder containing the file
BASE2.CAB, and in the lower box enter the location to which file is to be
restored.

See also  MS KB129605 - "HOW TO: Extract Original Compressed Windows
Files" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=129605).and MS  KB 265371 - "How
to Extract and Replace a Protected File in Windows Me"

Once you have restored MSPRINT3.INF and PRTUPD.INF to the windows\inf
folder you should then be able to install your printer using Control Panel

Thanks Mike,
The msprint3.inf file was missing from my computer. I hate hackers.
Followed your instructions and then in safe mode deleteted the two drv*.bin
files, restarted the computer and all hp drivers were back. Thanks again
