I have intalled the latest BIOS fix from COMPAQ for my
Compaq Presario 7000T 7RPM11 1.7 ghz 256RAM WinME pc. But
when I boot up it occasionally switches back the startup
sequence to start first with CD-ROM, instead of floppy
disk and gives me a black screen that says "Press F1 to
contionue". The boot up sequence does not continue unless
I press F1. When I check the Bios sequence it still shows
the correct setting of floppy disk first, but thats not
the sequence it follows when it trys to boot up. HELP

If your bios settings aren't "sticking" this could be because the battery on
the motherboard is failing and needs to be replaced.

You may want to Use the Compaq Knowledge Center menu to launch Compaq
QuickRestore. If the Compaq Knowledge Center is unavailable, use the
following path to launch Compaq QuickRestore:
C:\CPQS\QUICKSR\QRWIN\WINQRME.LNK
Buy a new battery and add as much memory RAM chips as you can afford - Why
didn't I think of that...?
