Starting last night, as I boot up the computer, certain
files that are listed in Msconfig Startup hang and refuse
to load and I have to CTL ALT DEL and end task to get the
process to continue.  These usually include systray,
statemgr and vsmon.  I have scanned the disk, run spybot
and adaware, I have latest mcaffee virus protection and
firewall and I just can't figure out what caused this.
Files (like systray.exe) seem to be there in
Windows/System as they shouldbe. ????????

Well - since you posted the exact same message THREE days ago, there seems
to be a timewarp somewhere - but as I don't intend to waste my time
responding to someone who won't go back to their own posts......
