Win Me is able to run Internet Explorer 6 SP1 but not later versions, for
example neither IE6 SP2 nor IE7 can be installed on Win Me.  What exactly
is the problem you are having?  What make and version instant messaging
program are you trying to install?  Is the version you want to install Win
Me compatible?  What is the error message you are seeing when you try to
install the program?  Remember that Win Me, like other Win 9x operating
systems such as Win 98 and Win 98SE, is no longer supported by Microsoft
and hasn't been for 1½ years.  Old operating systems often can only run
old(er) versions of applications and that is possibly the case here.
