no programs in add/remove programs window

Recently, I noticed that when opening the add/remove
programs dialog, I no longer have and programs listed.  I
attempted to download another add/remove utility and it
had the same issue.  Any assistance on how to correct this
issue would be very much appreciated!

SCANREG /FIX fixed the problem and an issue with file
types and visualizations in windows media player.  I
recommend the command to anyone :)
