I know there were restore points set up in the previous
month, but when I try to access the last month I get
nothing.

In which case it appears that they have been discarded. Checkpoints don't
last for ever and a point from last month, at least 28 days ago is, IMO, far
far too back to use with system restore. The number of checkpoints available
depends on a number of factors including the space allocated to the restore
archive and the size/number of files that have been amended and need to be
archived so as to allow the system to be rolled back.
