I've just been faced with the dreaded blue screen on
startup and error code OD 6167 00005BFO was quoted
I followed the guidance from MS Help and found when I went
to Selective startup and disconnected "Load Static VxDs" I
got a level of startup.
I then went into the Static VxDs window in the System
Configuration and disconnected the first file there
(VNETSUP) and restarted , since when everything seems OK
Can anyone tell me what VNETSUP does and can I manage
without it without doing any damage?
What are Static VxDs anyway?

The above Google search for VNETSUP provides many 'hits' and will explain
everything for you.
"Static VxD's" are those virtual device drivers that are loaded at boot and
remain loaded until shut down. If you are really interested, the following
URL goes into a little detail on the subject or you could do a Google search
for 'static vxd':

Hope this helps a little.
