I get this message
"Iexplore has caused an error in URLMON.DLL Iexplore will
now close. If you continue to experience problems, try
restarting your computer."
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?!

That's what I was afraid you were going to say!<g>
in that case -
Such errors are often caused by spyware - download AdAware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.

Please also check the version number of the URLMON.dll file

How sure are you that it's spyware? Well, if it is to
avoid this in the future is there a product from Norton or
McAfee that has software I can buy and frequently update?
By the way, why and how do I check the version number of
URLMON.dll?
Thanks for all your help
Angela

When you find the file, r-click on it, and select Properties

Please, DON'T install any more Norton stuff on your machine - they still
haven't learnt how to handle either System Restore, or Win ME's registry,
after 4 years of trying.

Avoidance of malware of all kinds is best done by practicing Safe Hex - for
a paranoid's guide, look here
http://users.iafrica.com/c/cq/cquirke/safe2000.htm

There are any number of software items that purport to 'stop' spyware
getting in - none of them are total (or even totally effectivce) solutions,
since the spyware inductry is moving too fast to keep track of.

AdAware is one of the best for getting rid of the results of an attack - and
certainly the safest, as everything it catches can be removed.
Unfortunately, it isn't foolproof, and you may find that SpyBot S&D - from
http://www.safer-networking.org/ will find things that AdAware misses
(although AdAware finds things that it misses). Spybot is, however a much
more powerful (and therefore hazardous) tool to use - and is not for the
beginner (though everyone has to start sometime)! Both should be updated
before every use.
A combination of these two - plus CWShredder, and HijackThis for special
cases - will kill just about any spyware/adware on your machine (again,
update before every use).

Note that the AV companies are just beginning to get into spyware control -
and their definitions files are starting to reflect this. They have an awful
long way to go before they're anything like as effective as the above.

Angela I went to the http://support.microsoft.com, below &
I think this will solve the problem by extracting &
restoring the missing file.  I will try tomorrow.  Go to
your explorer & click on the URLMON.DLL to get the path &
name of file to extract.  Hope this helps us all
