See MS KB 238165 - "Defrag Error Message: ID No:DEFRAG00205"
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=238165) which explains that this problem
is due to a damaged Applog file in the C:\Windows\Applog folder.

All I can think of is that you didn't completely remove the files -
Open Windows Explorer
Navigate to C:\Windows
Highlight the APPLOG folder, and r-click on it - select Delete
See if that improves things..
If not, report back with ANY other error messages that you get - with the
more detail, the better.
