When I start-up my system or when I have to restart my
system I put in my password then windows goes through it's
start-up processuntil everything is loaded. The problem
begins there. I usually have to wait for several minutes
until the computer chirps and the screen refreshs itself
before I can use my computer. If I don't wait the system
works very odd with very large font and different colours.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated.

I suggest that you check out the Drivers you're using....

Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL error-flagged devices
Remove ALL devices that don't actually exist on your system(surprising how
often this happens)
Remove ALL instances of duplicated entries
Remove ALL 'Other Devices'
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall required drivers - note that
it may take three or four reboots before they're all in.

See if that helps

If not much difference, then you need to check out what is loading at
startup - look here for instructions on how to clean up your startup axis,
preventing unnecessary programs loading
