hi people, I'm getting two rundll errors I'd like to solve
somehow, they are;

I go to control panel>install/uninstall>windows setup. Up
pops an applet says

                 "Rundll32,
An error has occurred in your program, to keep working
click ignore and save your work in a new file. To quit
this program click close, you will lose information
entered since your last save".

I close that applet then I get another comes straight at
me again.

thanks in advance for any help, kev

Rundll32 has caused an error in SetupXdll, rundll will now
close

Your setupx.dll error is usually the result of first having deleted some
empty folders in Program Files that were placed there when Win Me was
installed that are used for optional components of Win Me and then using a
registry cleaner such as EasyCleaner which removed some  necessary entries
required for Add/Remove Programs | Windows Setup to function because the
target folders were no longer present.  You can avoid this happening in future
by not deleting such folders and similarly not deleting any values in the key
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\VarLDID

I would have attached a zip file containing a reg file containing all of the
required entries to my reply but since you  are using the web interface to
these newsgroups rather than a proper newsreader you would never see the
attachment.  If you get to see this reply and want me to send you the repair
patch please e-mail me at mikem@mvps.org.

And if you did use an earlier version of ToniArts' registry cleaner,
Easy Cleaner,  you may wish to obtain the latest version:
