My defrag only gets to 1% then back to 0.
What can I do next.

Do both scandisk and defrag in Safe Mode.........reboot, hold down the Ctrl
key (or F8 on some) and pick #3 from the screen that comes up......reboot
when finished and you will be back in Windows.

Cheers.....Heather

>Ken.  I constantly have this problem. Here's what works
for me:  Your system is running something in the
background that is constantly changing. The best way to do
a defrag is to run a selective start up or start up in
safemode, then run a clean up of temp internet files and
cookies (optional) and then run your defrag.  Good luck.
