I am running Windows ME and my registry is huge.  I cannot
use regedit.exe.  This option and other tools in system
group i.e. msconfig...will not work either.  How can I re-
enable regedit.exe so I can empty my registry?

Empty your registry?  What are you trying to do?  What are the sizes of
system.dat, classes.dat and user.dat (the files that form the registry)?  On a
well used reasonably well endows in terms of software PC these three files can
easily total 10-12MB.

Your registry is "huge" ?...

Type in a DOS Window

SCANREG /FIX

you will be prompted to reboot. After that do the same thing and type

SCANREG /OPT

etc.

Further than that you're going to have to explain what you mean by "will
not work".
