I recently had major computer problems. I am running
Windows ME. In short this is the drastic actions I ended
up taking since my problems started out with I.E.6 SP1.
I ran a program call Registry Mechanic. It said I had
almost 500 errors in my deep scan registry. Like a fool I
purchased the program and ran it to repair these items. It
said it did...I don't know if they were even there. Still
having problems with I.E. 6 I gave up and reinstalled
Windows ME from my disc which put me back with I.E. 5.5. I
thought I would be able to do the updates. They would not
work. I went to CNET bulletin board and posted a message
and was told to download IE 6.6 SP1 to my desktop, then
download a program called IEradicator and to back up all
records since this would wipe out I.E., then reinstall IE
6.6 SP1 from my desktop. I did all of this and it seemed
like things were going great until I went to My Documents.
They had not been wiped out, but about 1/2 of them will
not open (especially the Word doc.items). Now I get
messages that Msqsrv32 is not responding. When I click
onto that stupid Registry Mechanic I purchased it tells me
MSCOMCTL.OCX is missing. I've moved all of "My Documents"
to a new folder and tried to re-install them to the "My
Documents" folder from the CD-ROM I backed them up on, but
my computer freezes and when using control/alt/delete it
shows me that Msqsrv32 is Not responding. In short, I've
created quite the mess. Can anyone help with getting at
least the Msqsrv32 back? I cannot do a restore past where
these problems started.
Thanks
Registry Mechanic? - from what little I've seen of it, it should be more
accurately described as 'Registry Destroyer'!!!
Unfortunately, I have lost the patience to read though the rest of your
post - so try reposting with 'paragraphs' (you do know what they are?)

All I came here for was help, not criticism. I'm sorry to
have "tried" your patience so early in the morning.
To answer 'your question'...yes, I do know
what 'paragraphs' are!! I apparently typed the problem
while running it threw my (not my pc) memory of how things
happened. I am also worn to the brink of despair at this
point since this is my business computer and not one used
just for "fun"!
Thanks for nothing!
