Last year I learned from this newsgroup to defrag in safe
mode when having continual restarts.  I used keyboard
commands because my mouse did not work in safe mode.  Now
my keyboard commands do not work in safe mode.  What can I
do to be able to run scandisk and disk defragmenter?  Why
will keyboard commands suddenly not work?  Thanks.

>When I run it from system tools, it continually
restarts.  I use the keyboard (Windows key to open Start
menu, arrow keys to navigate, etc.) in place of the mouse,
which will not work in Safe Mode.  The first few times I
defragged I did it through system Tools but then I kept
getting restart messages.  I went to this newsgroup and
read about using safe mode, which I did and it worked.
Now, however, in safe mode neither the mouse nor the
keyboard commands and arrows work.

With ScanDefrag in restrictive mode you can avoid
safe mode.

Boot the computer with directions on how to do it.  I did
this and everything worked perfectly.  Thanks.
