I have tried to use System Restore for the first time
ever. It does not come up but it opens a message box
stating that System Restore coannot run until I do a
restart. But I get the same message even if I do a
restart. It just doesn't copme up. Could sombody tell me
what my computer is really trying to tell me. Thanks in
advance.

Try this: Control panel, System, performance,
System restore disk space use, then slide it to MAX
Click Apply, OK and try restore again

I am unclear as to how increasing the space allocated to the restore
archive is going to solve this problem.  Please see Noel Paton's reply
posted a week ago for the more normal fix for this particular problem.
