Try this........
Open the Control Panel (Start, Settings, Control Panel), select
Add/Remove Programs and then the Windows Setup tab. Scroll down to the
System Tools, click on the Details button and make sure there is a check
mark in the System Monitor. If there already is, uncheck it, Apply, and
recheck it and Apply.
Hopefully, that will get you back in business.
